Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy covers apps by Neil Beaver and this website. Where a section applies to only one app, it says so.
Data we collect
None. The apps and this website do not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no analytics, no tracking scripts, and no cookies.
Location (Roads only)
Roads can show your current location on the map. This only ever happens when you tap the location button yourself — the app never requests your location in the background or while you are not using it.
Your location is used once, at that moment, to centre the map on screen. It is not stored by the app, not written to any file, not logged, and not sent to us or to anyone else. Close the map and nothing about your location remains.
Granting the location permission is entirely optional. Roads works normally without it; only the location button is unavailable.
Maps and search (Roads only)
Map imagery, satellite imagery, and place search in Roads are provided by Google Maps. Displaying a map or searching for a place necessarily sends that request to Google, in the same way that opening any map or website sends a request to its server. Those requests are handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. We do not send Google your name, your email address, or any account identifier, and we do not receive anything back about you.
Subscriptions
The apps offer an optional paid subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your card details, billing address, or Apple/Google account.
To know whether your subscription is active, the apps use RevenueCat. RevenueCat identifies your installation by a randomly generated, anonymous identifier. It is not linked to your name or email, and we cannot use it to identify you.
Contact
If you contact us by email, we will retain your email address and any details you provide solely to respond to your enquiry. We won't use your contact details for any other purpose, and we won't share them with third parties.
If you send us diagnostic information to help with a problem, we use it only for troubleshooting that problem.
Third-party services
The apps are distributed via the Apple App Store and Google Play, and use the services named above. Each has its own privacy practices, which we neither control nor take responsibility for:
- Apple — App Store distribution and payments
- Google — Google Play distribution and payments, and Google Maps in Roads
- RevenueCat — subscription status
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to show you, correct, or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it.
Changes
If we ever change this policy, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
