Stopping
Every journey ends with the car stopped, and most of the hazards you meet along the way are dealt with by slowing down or stopping in good time. Braking well is less about the strength of your right foot than about how early you saw the need to use it.
Three things decide whether a stop is comfortable or alarming: how much room you left in front of you, how far ahead you were looking, and how much grip the road surface can offer. Get the first two right and the third rarely gets tested.
